dc.description.abstract The article focuses on some problems of the distance education development, particularly the LMS. Changes in tools and methodology of the educational process organization occur to the transforming in the perception of intellectual material, and the whole philosophy of education. The concept of the so-called "flipped classroom" is being actively implemented. Its use has both a set of serious advantages and a number of obvious disadvantages. Although an objective assessment of both will be possible over a longer period of time, we can already talk about some nuances. Among the philosophical aspects of using LMS, we consider the most obvious change in the format of communication and knowledge exchange. Among the methodological aspects, we single out a change in approaches to the presentation of information, and a significant expansion, detailing and diversification of content itself. Among the legal-intellectual aspects, we emphasize the fact that the free use principle of basic LMS functions is increasingly coming forward, with the proposal to pay only for advanced functionality and customization. uk_UA
