Abstract:
The lecture notes considers the " International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea and the Use of Radar Systems and Automatic Radar Plotting Aids in Diverging vessels ".
The subject of the course "International Rules for the Prevention of Collision
and the use of radar systems and automatic radar patching in case of vessel separation" is to train seafarers and other professionals working in the maritime industry to navigate safely and prevent collisions at sea using radar systems and modern technologies.
The discipline is aimed at studying STCW, application of rules and use of radar ARPA and AIS to ensure safety of navigation. The discipline ensures the implementation of the requirements of Section A-II/1 (Seafaring functions at the level of operation) of the Code of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, as amended.
Particular attention is paid to the study of the rules of construction and application of relative motion elements for the construction of motion triangles in order to fully assess the situation and draw correct conclusions based on the knowledge of STCW for the safety of navigation and life at sea.
It is intended for students of navigational speciality of maritime institutions, and can be useful for navigators of marine transport, fishing and research vessels and all water transport workers.
